Dear fellow servants in the ministry,
It is fall! It came in with a bang in Missouri. Monday we were in the 80’s and had to turn on the heater Friday. What a difference a day makes!
With fall comes everything pumpkin!! Coffees, Lattes, Frappuccinos, even pumpkin flavored bacon, pizza and salsa…and the list goes on. So, with that in mind I think maybe we could take some advice from the pumpkin.
Advice from a Pumpkin
STAY ON THE VINE – John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without me ye can do nothing.
BE CONTENT WHERE YOU ARE – Philippians 4:11-12
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
BE OUTSTANDING IN YOUR FIELD – Colossians 3:23
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
TRUST GOD TO PROVIDE – Matthew 6:25-34
Matthew 6:31-33 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
HAVE A THICK SKIN – Colossians 3:13
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
KEEP GROWING – 1 Peter 2:2-3
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
THINK BIG – Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them,
With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
