1 Thessalonians 5:25 Brethren, pray for us.

July and August, 2014

We started July at Grace and Truth Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, Missouri where Brent and Julie Blaise are diligently working to renovate the old Kellogg Opera House. It was most recently used as a Baptist church but had fallen into a state of disrepair that rendered it unusable. But thanks to God, Grace and Truth Baptist Church and the Blaise family have become a great testimony to the community. We helped with drywall, painting and trim work. The building still needs a lot of work, however the transformation is amazing. Several of the NTCP working families have contributed to the transformation including the Needhams, Murphys, and Bartels. It is evident that God is blessing the faithfulness and hard work of the Blaise family. Ministry opportunities continue to become available including a food distribution ministry which they have recently taken over.

The end of July we pulled our trailer to Fort Scott, Kansas to help Emmanuel Baptist Church with their new building. We have been putting in insulation, hanging sheetrock, and doing a lot of mudding and taping. Pastor and Glenda Stivicks are great hosts. A couple in the church, Lynn and Ellen Robinson, are blessing us by giving us a beautiful place to park our trailer while we work on the church building.

During August we had time to take a quick trip to Larned, Kansas to try to salvage a walk in cooler and freezer for our home church, Wilson Creek Baptist Church. The coolers turned out to be no good, but meeting Pastor and Ann Shepherd and the congregation was great.
