10 Jul Newsletter from Karl and Mary Badalian – January and February, 2018
Since our accident on December 19th Mary and I have a new understanding of what folks go through after a bad car accident. We also have a deep appreciation for all of our praying friends. Thank you for your prayers as we continue to heal up and perform the missionary work to which we are called.
January and February seemed to fly by this year. On January 7th we arrived in Theodore, Alabama to help Lighthouse Baptist Church. We busied ourselves painting, doing trim work, and hanging doors in the newly remodeled Nursery area. On January 15th we went over to Heritage Baptist Church in Picayune, Mississippi for one day to help with their radio tower. Dewain and Linda Crouch arrived in Theodore on the 16th. While there, Dewain and I were able to frame-up the second floor into 12 rooms to be used as a children’s ministry area. It was a pleasure having two men from the church, Andrew and Nathan, working on the project every day. Prior to leaving Southern Alabama we got a chance to visit our friends Steve and Kristi Perkins at Grace Baptist Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
On February 19th we and the Crouches moved our trailers north to help Lighthouse Baptist Church in Harvest, Alabama. We met up with Ray McCullough from NTCP there. In Harvest I got to use the spray painter that Mary got me for Christmas. We painted a lot of the inside of the building with Mary back rolling as I sprayed. We hung doors, laid tile in the two bathrooms, installed bathroom partitions, installed vinyl soffit and metal fascia on the outside of the building, built the platform, and did an assortment of other odds and ends to help get the congregation closer to moving into their new facilities. It was nice getting to know some of the folks from the church a little better during this trip.
Our future plans are to go to Union City, Tennessee after we leave Alabama, then wherever else the Lord leads. Thank you for your kindness to us and the support of the New Testament Church Planting ministry. And thank you again for your prayers.
