13 Jan Newsletter from Karl and Mary Badalian – November and December, 2017
November and December are always interesting months for us. Cold weather forces us to head south and the warmth of friends and family pull us back toward our home in Missouri during the holiday season.
In November, while still at home, we were able to help the folks at Preach Evangelistic Ministry in Seymour Missouri with some painting. Mary and I, along with the help of missionary Josh Kidd, sprayed and rolled 25 gallons of paint on walls there.
Later in November we pulled our trailer to Jonesboro, Arkansas. Our friends Darrell and Trish Miller came with us. Darrell gave up a weekend to do some plumbing and other work before they had to head home. After they left Mary and I continued working and were able to do some remodeling to transform an old kitchen into a new office for the pastor. It was good to see Pastor Tim Whitfield and his wife Kim doing so well in the ministry there in Jonesboro. December found us in Madison Alabama working on the exterior of Lighthouse Baptist Church, getting a lot more of the fascia and soffit completed. It was cold working outside but several layers of clothing helped keep us warm.
Our plan was to drop our truck and trailer down south before heading back to Missouri for Christmas, which we did, leaving our “rolling home” at Picayune, Mississippi. We spent a couple of nights there and got to go Christmas caroling at the nursing home with them one evening.
On our way home we were driving in Texas in our Nissan Altima and were almost to my sister’s house when a Ford Explorer pulled into our lane hitting us head on. Our Nissan Altima worked well to save us however it could only do so much. Mary sustained a fairly severe concussion and we were both bruised up from our seat belts and air bags. But God is good and we were able to walk away from a major accident. Thank you so much for praying for us. It really is appreciated
Our plans are to go to Theodore, Alabama and wherever else the Lord leads. Thank you for your kindness to us and the support of the New Testament Church Planting ministry.
