The work here in Montalba, Texas has been progressing at a steady pace.
We started March with a visit from our friends Darrell and Trish Miller. They arrived with about 60 lights and partitions for the bathrooms. Besides getting all the lights installed in the sanctuary and fellowship hall we had a great time of fellowship.
On March 21st we took an afternoon off and went fishing, Mary’s favorite thing to do. We kept 20 of the fish we caught which of course led to fellowship and a fish fry in the sanctuary.
April 1st we had to say goodbye to Dewain and Linda Crouch. They reluctantly left because Dewain was very much in need of hip replacement surgery. Currently, he is recovering quite nicely. April 25th we had to say good-bye to Wayne Murphy. He was headed back to Colorado then on to see his daughter graduate from college.
Work accomplished over the two months included installing lights, heat and air units and ducting, ceiling tile, interior doors, bathroom partitions, kitchen cabinets, toilets, sinks, counters, floor tile, built the front porch, built the platform, and installed carpet.
Friday, April 26th, we started laying carpet in the sanctuary. By the following Monday we were finished with a carpet and on Tuesday, April 30th, we placed chairs into the sanctuary for the first service in the new building on Wednesday, May 1st.
On May 2nd I drove Mary to Oklahoma City where we met her sister Sandy. They both headed to Kansas City because Mary’s other sister, Angie Sullivan, is very sick.
Please pray that the Lord would be gracious and allow us to keep Angie here with us for a few more years. She is currently in intensive care, unconscious and heavily sedated due to very serious breathing problems and post-surgery complications.
Our future plans are to finish up the job here. And go home to Wilson Creek in June and help with church camps.
