What a great God we serve. He has been so good to us since we last wrote. The people here at Central Baptist Church in Amarillo have been such gracious hosts that we have been truly blessed being here. Not only are they building a new building, they are also busy building the church. There have been over 10 saved, including some of the professional men who came to work on the building, and at least 4 baptized. We always remember that we help build the building, but God builds the church.

As most of you know Susie’s mom, Reba Lunow, travels with us. Just a few days before she turned 91 on Oct 4, she began to have trouble breathing. We took her to the emergency room here in Amarillo and discovered that her lungs were filling with fluid due to a heart problem. Susie took her back to her doctor in Okla. City the next day. She was admitted to the hospital that weekend and spent several days as they got her medication adjusted. Then only after four days at home she had a mild stroke and was back in the hospital for a few days. Now after a battle with depression from medication and another mild TIA yesterday she seems to be doing better. We ask that you keep her in your prayers.

October 19, Ray had to have some minor surgery. We thought that he would have to be off work for a few weeks due to this, but the surgery was not as invasive as the doctor had first thought. He told Ray not to lift anything over 10 pounds for the next three days and then he could do whatever he felt like. Praise the Lord, he had absolutely no pain and did not even have to take an aspirin. So he is back on the job here at Central, getting ready to put up insulation and then begin sheet rocking.

The building in coming along nicely, and on Sunday, October 14, they had Scripture Wrap Sunday. They entirely wrapped their building with their favorite scripture verses.
